Private label effervescent tablets

PharmaEurope manufactures private label effervescent tablets in Europe — contract manufacturing of private label and white label food supplements under your own brand. Effervescent tablets are compressed and packed in the European Union, at the plant in Mārupe, Latvia, under ISO 22000:2018, GMP and HACCP. This is a low-MOQ format: tell us how many tubes you need and we quote it, with production in 4 to 8 weeks from approved artwork.

In short: effervescent tablets dissolve in water instead of being swallowed, which lets a high dose go down comfortably and gives the product its own retail identity. There is no fixed kilogram minimum — tell us how many tubes you need and we quote it. Production takes 4 to 8 weeks, and every batch carries a 24-month shelf life.

An effervescent tablet is bought for the experience as much as for the dose. It dissolves into a flavoured drink instead of being swallowed, which is why it sells to people who dislike tablets and why it carries high doses comfortably — a gram of vitamin C is unpleasant to swallow and perfectly easy to drink.

Specification

The parameters

The pack is not a choice here: an effervescent formula reacts with moisture, so it ships in a tube with a desiccant cap or it does not ship.

Ready-made effervescent formulas

Five effervescent formulas are already developed and produced, and any of them can be made under your brand without reformulation.

Full compositions are supplied on request. Ready-made formulas from every format are listed together.

What a ready-made formula gives you

The acid and bicarbonate system, the flavour and the compression parameters already exist and have already been run. In a format this sensitive to its own process, that is worth more than it is in any other: the batch has already behaved once.

What it costs you

A ready-made formula is not exclusive. A developed formula is yours, and it costs the development time before the first pack exists — and because an effervescent formula is more tightly constrained than a tablet or a capsule, custom development here is a technical project rather than a substitution of actives.

Chemistry, not machinery

Why this is the hardest format we make

An effervescent tablet is the most demanding of the formats on this site, and the reason is chemistry rather than machinery.

  • The whole product is a reaction waiting to happen. Acid and bicarbonate sit next to each other in a dry tablet and react the moment they meet water. That is the product — and it is also the failure mode.
  • Moisture is the enemy at every stage. The blend, the compression room, the tube and the warehouse all have to stay dry. Air humidity that a tablet or a capsule would shrug off starts the reaction early and turns a batch into swollen, dull tablets that no longer fizz.
  • Process tolerances are narrower than for a standard tablet. Compression force, blend moisture and room conditions have less room to vary before the batch stops behaving. This is why effervescent production is planned around the environment, not only around the recipe.
  • Flavour behaves differently here than in a powder. The carbonation, the acidity and the pH change what the buyer tastes, so a flavour system proven in a drink powder cannot simply be moved into an effervescent tablet. It is re-tested in the format it will actually ship in.
  • Vegan positioning is possible but has to be engineered. It depends on every excipient and flavour source, not on the active — so it is confirmed against the full composition before it is printed.

Packing

The tube is part of the formulation

Effervescent tablets are packed in plastic tubes. This is not a style choice: the tube is a low-moisture-permeability container with a desiccant in the cap, and it is doing the same job as the antioxidant in a softgel — protecting the product from the thing that destroys it.

A bottle with a wrap-around label or a zip-lock bag, both fine for tablets and capsules, is not a substitute here. All pack types and sizes are on the packing page.

Certification

What the certificate actually covers

Production runs under ISO 22000:2018, certificate MSC-22-1384, issued by BM Certification and valid to 7 January 2029. The scope printed on the certificate is manufacturing and packaging of food supplements (tablets, capsules, powders).

The plant also works to HACCP under Regulation (EC) 852/2004 and to the Food Supplements Europe Guide to Good Manufacturing Practice, and it is registered with the US FDA under registration number 13674831934, valid to 31 December 2026.

The certificate covers the site as a whole; effervescent tablets are made on the same certified line as our tablets rather than named individually in the printed scope.

Price

What drives the price

The active and its dose first — a gram of vitamin C and a multivitamin complex are not comparable. Then the flavour system, which in this format is a real cost line rather than a rounding error. Then the number of tablets per tube. The tube itself varies less than a bottle does, because there is no meaningful choice to make: the pack is dictated by the chemistry. Order size moves the rest, which is why a small first order and a large repeat order are quoted separately — tell us the tube count and we return a number.

Common questions

About effervescent tablet manufacturing

What is the MOQ for effervescent tablets?

Effervescent tablets do not carry a fixed kilogram minimum: tell us how many tubes you need and we return a number for that quantity. Production takes 4 to 8 weeks from approval of the formula and the label artwork, whatever the size of the run.

Why are effervescent tablets always sold in tubes?

Because they react with moisture. A tube has very low moisture permeability and its cap holds a desiccant, which keeps the tablets dry between the factory and the last serving. A bottle or a pouch does not hold the reaction back well enough.

Can effervescent tablets be vegan?

Yes, but it has to be built that way from the start. The claim depends on every excipient, flavour and sweetener in the blend rather than on the active alone, so we confirm it against the full composition before it is printed on a label.

Can you develop my own effervescent formula?

Yes, and this is the most technical of the formats we make. An effervescent tablet tolerates less variation than a capsule or a compressed tablet, so the blend, the acid and bicarbonate system, the flavour and the compression parameters are worked out together and proved on a trial batch.

How big a dose fits in one tablet?

An effervescent tablet carries a higher dose than a swallowed one, which is the main commercial reason for the format: 1000 mg of vitamin C is a routine effervescent serving and an unpleasant tablet to swallow. We set the practical limit for your active on the trial batch.

Why does my competitor’s tablet fizz slower?

Disintegration speed is set by the acid and bicarbonate system and by the compression force used on the press. Both are formulation choices rather than accidents, and both are fixed on the trial batch and written into the specification, because neither can be adjusted once the tablets are compressed and packed.

How many tablets go into one tube?

20 tablets per tube, each a 4-gram tablet on a sugar-free sorbitol base. The tube has a moisture-absorbing cap, which is what keeps an effervescent tablet from reacting before it reaches the glass. Pricing is quoted per tube count.

What is the shelf life?

Twenty-four months as standard, stated on every specification. It is not a fixed guarantee: the real figure is set by the shortest-lived ingredient in the formula, so a sensitive active can bring it below that and a stable one can sometimes run longer. The date printed on the pack is the one the stability data supports.

Where exactly are they made?

At the plant in Mārupe, Latvia, inside the European Union, operated by SIA Pharma Market Solutions under the same ownership as PharmaEurope. The site sits at “Kargo k-1”, Mārupe, LV-2167, and it is the site the ISO 22000 certificate names.

What certification does the manufacturing hold?

The plant in Mārupe is certified to ISO 22000:2018 under certificate MSC-22-1384, issued by BM Certification and valid to 7 January 2029, covering manufacturing and packaging of food supplements. It works to HACCP under Regulation (EC) 852/2004 and the Food Supplements Europe GMP guide, and holds US FDA registration 13674831934.

How fast do you respond to an effervescent tablet enquiry?

We reply within 24 hours, Monday to Friday of receiving your brief. If your launch date is tight, WhatsApp reaches us faster than email, and we treat that message with the same priority as a standard enquiry.

What shelf life do effervescent tablets carry?

We set a standard shelf life of 24 months, confirmed in the Certificate of Analysis issued with each batch. Because effervescent tablets are sensitive to moisture, the tube and desiccant cap matter as much to that date as the formula itself.

What machine compresses the effervescent tablets?

Effervescent tablets are compressed on the same IMA PREXIMA 300 press used for our standard tablets, then counted into tubes on a Cremer CF 1220 counting-and-filling line — equipment we name by manufacturer and model so you can check the specifications yourself.

Does the ISO 22000 certificate cover effervescent tablets specifically?

The certificate covers the Mārupe site as a whole, under number MSC-22-1384, valid to 7 January 2029. Its published scope names tablets, capsules and powders; effervescent tablets are made on the same certified site rather than listed in that scope by name.
