Packaging
Every product we make is packed in the European Union, at the plant in Mārupe, Latvia, and leaves with your label on it. This page is the full list of what your product can be packed in, and — more usefully — what each pack is actually for.

Packaging is not decoration. It protects the product from moisture, oxygen, light, contamination and transport, it carries the information the law requires, and it is the first thing the buyer touches. A pack chosen for looks alone is how a good formula dies on a shelf.
What each format is packed in
Effervescent tablets are the one format with no choice at all — the tube is part of the formulation.
| Format | Packed in |
|---|---|
| Tablets | PET bottle, glass bottle, blister with carton, zip-lock bag |
| Capsules | Bottle, blister, zip-lock bag |
| Softgels | Bottle, blister, zip-lock bag |
| Effervescent tablets | Plastic tube with desiccant cap |
| Powders | Jar, zip-lock bag |
PET bottles
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Sizes | 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 400 and 500 ml |
| Colours | Blue, amber, red, clear, cream white, white opaque, green |
| Closure protection | Self-glue or induction seal |
Bottle size follows the bulk density of what goes in it, not the count on the label: the same sixty capsules need a different bottle depending on the fill.
Colour is a technical decision before it is a brand one. Amber and opaque bottles keep light off light-sensitive actives — oils, some vitamins, botanical extracts. A clear bottle shows the product, which sells well and protects badly.
An induction seal is a foil membrane welded to the neck: it keeps oxygen out until the customer opens it and gives visible tamper evidence. A self-glue closure is the simpler and cheaper of the two. Retail chains often require the former.
Glass bottles, and blisters with a carton
Glass is inert, heavier and more expensive to ship, and it reads as premium on a shelf. It is the choice where positioning justifies the freight, or where the formulation prefers an inert wall.
A blister seals each tablet or capsule individually in its own cavity, which is the strongest routine protection we offer against moisture and oxygen, and the natural format for a product sold as a defined course. The printed carton around it carries the branding and the mandatory information, and gives obvious tamper evidence. It costs more per unit than a bottle — and for a hygroscopic or oxidisable formula that cost is the cheapest insurance on the product.
The one pack with no alternative
Effervescent tablets are packed in plastic tubes with a desiccant cap, and there is no alternative on offer because there is no alternative that works. Effervescent formulas react with moisture; even minimal humidity starts the reaction early and ruins the batch. The tube has very low moisture permeability and the desiccant in the cap absorbs what gets in during opening.
Two commercial roles for the same powder
Jars are the retail format for powders: they hold their shape, take a wrap-around label and a scoop, and reseal between servings.
Zip-lock pouches are lighter and cheaper, which makes them the format for refills, trial sizes, sampling and subscription packs. They are the weaker moisture barrier of the two, which matters for flavoured and hygroscopic blends.
What the product decides for you
- Moisture sensitivity removes options. An effervescent formula gets a tube; a hygroscopic powder does not belong in a thin pouch.
- Light sensitivity removes the clear bottle, whatever it does for the shelf.
- Oxidation decides the seal. An oil that goes rancid needs an induction seal or a blister, not a self-glue cap.
- Bulk density decides the size. A fluffy blend and a dense one at the same gram weight need different volumes.
- The sales channel decides tamper evidence. Many retailers require a visible seal, and that requirement arrives after the pack has been chosen unless it is asked about first.
Checked before the print run, not after
Whatever the pack, the label has to carry what Regulation (EU) 1169/2011 requires of food information, and any claim on it has to be one permitted by Regulation (EC) 1924/2006. We check artwork against both before production — a compliance problem found at the printing stage costs the print run; found later it costs the batch.
Packing runs inside the certified scope
Packing runs inside the same certified scope as manufacturing: ISO 22000:2018, certificate MSC-22-1384, valid to 7 January 2029, whose scope reads manufacturing and packaging of food supplements (tablets, capsules, powders); HACCP under Regulation (EC) 852/2004; the Food Supplements Europe GMP guide; and US FDA registration 13674831934.
About supplement packaging
What bottle sizes do you have?
PET bottles of 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 400 and 500 ml, in seven colours — blue, amber, red, clear, cream white, white opaque and green — with either a self-glue or an induction-seal closure. Glass bottles are available as well, and all filling happens at the Mārupe plant.
Which bottle should I choose for sixty capsules?
Bottle size is set from the fill volume, not the capsule count: a dense mineral blend and a light botanical powder at sixty capsules need different bottle volumes. The size is fixed once the formula exists and the capsule fill weight is known, which is why it is decided after the sample rather than before.
What is an induction seal and do I need one?
It is a foil membrane welded to the bottle neck, broken by the customer on first opening. It keeps oxygen out and gives visible tamper evidence, and you need it if the product oxidises or if your retailer requires it.
Can I have blisters instead of bottles?
Yes — tablets, capsules and softgels are packed into blisters with a carton. A blister seals each dose separately and gives the best routine protection against moisture and oxygen, at a higher cost per unit than a bottle. The choice is usually made by the retail position rather than by the formula.
Why are effervescent tablets only offered in tubes?
Because they react with moisture: the tube has very low moisture permeability and a desiccant in the cap. A bottle or a pouch would let the reaction start before the customer opens the pack. That is why the tube is part of the formulation, not a packaging preference.
Do you print the labels?
Yes. Labels and packaging artwork are printed at the plant, directly onto the bottle, carton, tube or bag, under your own brand; nothing is sent out to a separate printer. If you do not have finished artwork yet, we help prepare it so it meets EU food-labelling rules before it goes to print.
What has to be on the label?
A supplement label sold in the EU must carry the information required by Regulation (EU) 1169/2011 and may use only health claims authorised under Regulation (EC) 1924/2006. We check your artwork against both before the print run, because a reprint costs more than a check, and the responsibility stays with the brand owner.
Can I supply my own packaging?
Yes, on request. As standard, bottles, jars, tubes, bags, cartons and labels are all sourced and printed at the plant, so the product leaves the line finished and labelled and one party is responsible for the whole pack. If you already have packaging of your own, send its specification with the enquiry: it is checked for fit on the filling and labelling line before the batch is planned.
Is the packing done in the same place as the manufacturing?
Yes — packing happens at the same plant in Mārupe, Latvia, as the manufacturing, and inside the same certified scope: the ISO 22000 certificate MSC-22-1384 reads manufacturing and packaging of food supplements. Nothing is shipped to a separate contract packer between blending and the finished pack.
