PharmaEurope manufactures sports nutrition under your own brand in the European Union, at the plant in Mārupe, Latvia, under ISO 22000:2018, GMP and HACCP. The minimum order is 300 kg of finished blend and production takes 4 to 8 weeks from approved artwork.
In short: sports nutrition is a powder-based format — protein blends, creatine, pre- and post-workout, mass gainers — so it follows the same threshold as our bulk powders: from 300 kg of finished blend. Because the buyer tastes the product every serving, flavour, sweetener and solubility matter as much as the actives. Production takes 4 to 8 weeks.

Sports nutrition is a market, not a format. What makes it its own category is not the machine that fills the jar — it is that the buyer takes the product several times a week for months, tastes it every single time, and compares the label with a competitor’s before every repeat purchase. That changes which decisions matter.
The manufacturing side of powders — particle size, blend uniformity, pack barrier — is the same for every powder we make and is covered on the powders page. This page is about what is different when the product is sold into sport.

Finished sports nutrition powders are filled into jars and pouches on the powder line at the plant in Mārupe and cartoned on an IMA IC 150 cartoning machine.
The categories we blend
Whey protein
As concentrate or isolate. Isolate carries more protein per gram and less lactose, and it carries a premium price; concentrate is what most volume products use. The decision is usually made backwards from the shelf price you are aiming at.
Plant protein
Usually pea and rice together, because the combination gives a better amino acid profile and a better mouthfeel than either protein alone. A plant product is also a different flavour problem: the base tastes of something, and the flavour system has to work with it rather than over it.
Creatine monohydrate
A single-ingredient product. There is no formulation story to tell, which means the entire quality argument is the raw material and the particle size — and the entire commercial argument is price per serving.
Pre- and post-workout
The category where taste decides repeat purchase more than the actives do. A pre-workout that does not dissolve cleanly in a shaker is returned regardless of what is in it.
Mass gainers
High-gram servings, where bulk density decides the jar before any other decision is made. A gainer at the same gram weight as a protein needs a visibly larger pack.
Collagen and beauty
Sold on the same shelf and taken the same way, but to a different buyer — which usually means a different flavour system and a smaller serving.
What changes when the product is sold into sport
- The customer tastes it hundreds of times. A supplement in a capsule is swallowed; a protein is drunk. Flavour and solubility are not finishing touches here — they are the product, and they are the reason a customer buys the second jar.
- The label is compared before every repeat purchase. Protein per serving, amino acid profile, serving size, servings per pack. A pack that hides its serving size behind a large number on the front is read as a trick by this audience specifically.
- Serving size is a commercial decision, not a technical one. The same kilogram of powder is thirty-three 30-gram servings or forty 25-gram ones, and the second pack looks better on a shelf at the same price. This is the single most manipulated number in the category — which is a reason to be straight about it, not a reason to join in.
- Allergen declaration is not optional. Whey is milk, and it must be declared. Plant blends have their own allergen profile depending on the raw materials.
- Health claims are tightly regulated in the EU. What can be written on a sports label is governed by Regulation (EC) 1924/2006, and authorised claims are specific and finite. A claim that reads well in a marketing draft is often not one of them. We check label artwork against the regulation before production — it is cheaper than reprinting.

A natural flavour and sweetener system costs more and behaves differently in the blend than an artificial one. An unflavoured protein is the cheapest to produce and the hardest to sell twice.
How sports products are packed
Sports powders are packed in jars or zip-lock bags. The jar is the retail format — it holds its shape, takes a wrap-around label and a scoop, and protects the powder between servings. The zip-lock bag is lighter and cheaper, which makes it the refill, the trial size and the subscription pack. All pack types and sizes are on the packing page.
Certified manufacturing
Production runs under ISO 22000:2018, certificate MSC-22-1384, issued by BM Certification and valid to 7 January 2029. The scope printed on the certificate is manufacturing and packaging of food supplements (tablets, capsules, powders).
The plant also works to HACCP under Regulation (EC) 852/2004 and to the Food Supplements Europe Guide to Good Manufacturing Practice, and it is registered with the US FDA under registration number 13674831934, valid to 31 December 2026.
Sports nutrition powders are blended on the same certified site as our tablets, capsules and bulk powders, under certificate MSC-22-1384, rather than named individually in the printed scope.
Manufactured and packed in the European Union
As a private label sports nutrition manufacturer in Europe, we blend and pack your product at the plant in Mārupe, Latvia, operated by SIA Pharma Market Solutions, under the same ownership as PharmaEurope.
The production, the certification and the batch records all sit with the Latvian plant.

What drives the price
The protein or the active, first — isolate and concentrate are different products at the same gram weight. Then the serving size multiplied by servings per pack, because a powder is priced by the kilogram in the pack rather than by the pack. Then the flavour and sweetener system. Then the pack: a jar with a printed label and a scoop costs more than a zip-lock bag. Order size moves all of it, which is why 300 kg and 3,000 kg are quoted separately.

What is your MOQ?
The minimum order for sports nutrition is 300 kg of finished blend — the same threshold as our other powder formats — and production takes 4 to 8 weeks from approval of the formula and the label artwork. Ask with your own numbers before assuming a flavour range is out of reach.
Concentrate or isolate?
Isolate carries more protein per gram and less lactose, and costs more; concentrate is the cost-efficient choice and is what most volume products use. Decide from the retail price you are aiming at, then check the protein per serving the label will have to state.
What goes into a plant protein?
Usually pea and rice protein together, because the combination gives a better amino acid profile and a better texture than either protein on its own. The ratio, the flavour system and the particle size are all written into the specification before the trial batch is run.
Can you develop the flavour?
Yes — we build a custom flavour for your blend, or you choose a pre-formulated one from what already exists. Flavouring, sweetening and colouring are three separate lines in the specification, each set as unflavoured, natural, artificial, or natural and artificial, and each one is fixed on the trial batch.
What can I write on the label?
Health claims on a supplement sold in the EU are governed by Regulation (EC) 1924/2006, and only authorised claims may be used; the mandatory information follows Regulation (EU) 1169/2011. We check the artwork against both before production, because a reprint costs more than a check does.
Do I have to register the product before selling it in the EU?
Food supplements are not pre-approved at EU level, sports products included; most Member States require a notification before sale. The company named on the label files the notification with its national authority before sale — in Spain that is AESAN. We supply the composition and the batch documentation, and the filing itself is made by the brand owner.
Is the product tested for banned substances?
Not as a standard step, but it is arranged on request. Testing for substances banned in sport is carried out by an independent accredited laboratory on a sample from your batch, and the report is issued in your brand’s name so you can show it to athletes, federations or retailers. Tell us at the quote stage that you need it and the sampling is written into the batch plan.
What is the shelf life?
Twenty-four months as standard, stated on every specification. It is not a fixed guarantee: the real figure is set by the shortest-lived ingredient in the formula, so a sensitive active can bring it below that and a stable one can sometimes run longer. The date printed on the pack is the one the stability data supports.

At the plant in Mārupe, Latvia, inside the European Union, operated by SIA Pharma Market Solutions under the same ownership as PharmaEurope. The site works under ISO 22000:2018, whose scope covers manufacturing and packaging of food supplements, powders among them.
How fast do you respond to a sports nutrition enquiry?

What shelf life do sports nutrition powders carry?
We set a standard shelf life of 24 months, confirmed in the Certificate of Analysis issued with the batch. Flavour, sweetener and protein source all affect how the blend performs well before that date, which is why it is fixed on the trial batch.
What equipment fills and cartons the powder?
Powders are filled into jars and pouches on the powder line at the plant in Mārupe and cartoned on an IMA IC 150 cartoning machine before dispatch. The Cremer CF 1220 counter on the same site handles tablets and capsules, not powder.
Does the ISO 22000 certificate cover sports nutrition by name?
The certificate covers the Mārupe site under number MSC-22-1384, valid to 7 January 2029. Its published scope names tablets, capsules and powders; sports nutrition is blended at the same certified site rather than named individually in that scope.
