EU-made supplements for Indian brands
Indian shoppers read labels more closely every year, and a product made in the EU and tested batch by batch answers the question they ask first. PharmaEurope manufactures private label supplements at an ISO 22000-certified plant in Mārupe, Latvia: from 100 units on selected ready-made formulas, 500 bottles as the standard run, with the documents your importer files with FSSAI.
In short: we manufacture in the EU; your Indian company imports, holds the FSSAI licence and sells. You receive the product, the batch documents and a label built for Indian rules.

Why EU-made sells in India
The Indian supplement market grows fast, and so does the buyer’s wish to check what is inside the tub. A batch document from an EU plant answers that without a word of advertising, which is why “imported” and “lab-tested” carry weight on Indian shelves and marketplaces.
of 36 popular protein supplements tested in India did not match what their label declared, and 14% contained aflatoxins.

How the goods get from our plant to India
1. Formula and label
Everything Indian labelling rules require is printed before the goods leave the EU. Four items may be added later in a bonded warehouse; see the questions below.
2. Production
4 to 8 weeks at our plant in Mārupe, Latvia. The batch is released with its Certificate of Analysis.
3. Export from the EU
FCA or DAP recommended. The invoice carries no EU VAT once the export is proven.
4. Clearance in India
Through a designated port, with FSSAI sampling before release. At least about 60% of the shelf life should remain at clearance; our standard shelf life is 24 months.
5. On sale
Offline, or on Amazon.in through your Indian company, which is the seller of record.
What Indian buyers ask before the first order
Do you get the FSSAI licence for us?
The Central FSSAI licence is issued to your company as the Indian importer of record, not to the manufacturer. We supply the specification, the Certificate of Analysis and the site certificates that your application and every consignment need.
Is your plant registered with FSSAI?
Yes. The plant in Mārupe, Latvia is registered with FSSAI, India’s food regulator. The import licence is still held by your company as the importer of record; our registration and the batch documents are what your licence and every consignment rely on.
Can the label be finished in India?
Partly. Indian rules allow four items to be added under customs control in a bonded warehouse: the importer’s name and address, the FSSAI logo and licence number, the veg or non-veg mark and the product category. Everything else is printed before the goods leave the EU.
Which ingredients need extra paperwork?
Since 1 November 2022, consignments containing dairy, fish or pork-derived ingredients, such as whey protein, fish oil or some gelatine capsules, need a health certificate from the country of origin. Tell us the formula and we flag it at the quote.
Can we sell on Amazon.in?
Yes, through an Indian company. Amazon.in requires the seller of record to hold an Indian GSTIN and PAN, and imported supplements are listed against the importer’s Central FSSAI licence. The listing belongs to your Indian entity; we manufacture the product and supply its documents.
What does it cost to land the goods in India?
We quote production; customs duty and IGST are paid in India. IGST on most supplements has been 5% since 22 September 2025, and your customs broker confirms the duty for the exact tariff code. An EU invoice without VAT is not the same as tax-free: Indian duty and IGST still apply on arrival.
