For supplement startups

Low-MOQ supplement manufacturer for startups in the EU

PharmaEurope is a low MOQ supplement manufacturer for startups: it makes white and private label food supplements at a certified plant in the European Union. A small batch of a ready-made formula under your label (white label) starts from 100 units in capsules, tablets or softgels, and a product built around your brand (private label) starts from 500 bottles per product in capsules or tablets. Production of these formats takes from 2 weeks, or from 4 weeks for a formula developed for your brand. The plant is certified to ISO 22000:2018, GMP and HACCP and is a US FDA registered facility, and every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis and a specification. Delivery is worldwide.

What is the minimum order for a supplement startup?

The minimum is 100 units for a ready-made formula under your label and 500 bottles per product for a private label product in capsules or tablets.

The two numbers answer two different questions a founder has. A first run of 100 units tests whether the product sells under your name and at your price. An order of 500 bottles is the point at which the product is built around your brand. Both minimums apply per product, so a range of three flavours counts as three products, and a plan for the first order should start from the number of products rather than the number of units.

Formats counted by weight or volume have their own standard minimum: powders, sachets and sports nutrition 300 kg of finished blend, syrups from 100 L, oils with vitamins from 20 L. For a smaller first run of a powder, ask with your quantity. Effervescent tablets have a low minimum order, quoted per tube count in tubes of 20 tablets. Why the unit changes from one format to the next is explained on the MOQ explained page.

Does the packaging or the formula set my minimum order?

At PharmaEurope the route sets it: a ready-made formula in stock packaging with your label starts from 100 units, and a product with its own label and packaging built around your brand starts from 500 bottles per product.

Packaging is done at the plant for every route: bottles, jars, pouches, blisters, tubes and sachets are filled and packed where the product is made, so the product and its pack come from one supplier. The label is designed by PharmaEurope or printed from your own artwork, and in both cases it is checked against EU labelling rules before it goes to print.

How long from the first message to a finished batch?

Production takes from 2 weeks for a ready-made formula and from 4 weeks for a formula developed for your brand; for drink cubes the time is agreed in your quote.

The clock is set by two sign-offs. PharmaEurope replies to an enquiry within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, and samples are available before the order. You then approve the sample and the label artwork, and nothing is printed or produced before both are signed. Transport comes after production and depends on the delivery terms: EXW as standard, FCA or DAP on request.

What does PharmaEurope do for a startup, and what stays with the brand?

PharmaEurope covers the product from formula to finished, labelled batch; the brand owner chooses the product, signs the two approvals and places the product on the market.

Can another brand sell the same formula?

With a ready-made formula, yes: it comes from the shared catalogue of more than 500 formulas, and a formula developed for your brand is developed for it, rather than taken from the shared catalogue.

On a ready-made formula, which starts from 100 units, what sets your product apart is your brand, your label and your pack. When the composition itself has to differ, the route is a formula developed for your brand: a sample first, then production from 4 weeks, from 500 bottles per product for capsules and tablets. A brand can start with the first and move to the second once the product has buyers.

What must a brand owner do before selling in the EU?

Food supplements are not pre-approved at EU level. Directive 2002/46/EC, Article 10 allows Member States to require the business placing a supplement on their market to notify the competent authority by forwarding a model of the label.

The notification is made by the business placing the product on the market in that country. PharmaEurope supplies the specification, the Certificate of Analysis and the site certificates alongside the label model, and the label itself is already checked against EU labelling rules before print. For brands selling outside the EU, the markets pages describe the import route for the UK, the US, India and China.

What should a startup ask a supplement manufacturer before the first order?

Six questions show whether a manufacturer fits a first launch; here is how PharmaEurope answers each of them.

  • How is the minimum counted? Per product, in the unit of the format: bottles for capsules and tablets, kilograms for powders, litres for liquids, tubes for effervescent tablets.
  • What do I sign before production starts? The sample and the label artwork. Both are signed before anything is printed or produced.
  • What arrives with each batch? A Certificate of Analysis and a specification; the 24-month standard shelf life is confirmed on the specification.
  • Which certificates does the site hold? ISO 22000:2018, GMP and HACCP, plus a US FDA facility registration, which lists the site rather than approving a product. Copies with their numbers are sent on request; scans are on the certifications page.
  • How long has the manufacturer been producing? The group has more than 25 years in production, more than 70 specialists, and exports to 42 countries.
  • How quickly will I get an answer? Within 24 hours, Monday to Friday.
Common questions

Frequently asked questions from supplement startups

How is a first order put together?

PharmaEurope builds a first order from products, each with its own minimum. For every product you set the formula (ready-made or your own), the format, the quantity (from 100 units for white label, from 500 bottles for private label), the label and, for private label, the pack. Delivery is EXW as standard, FCA or DAP on request, so plan transport according to the terms you choose.

Can I start with one product and add more later?

Yes. PharmaEurope applies the minimum per product, so a brand can launch with one product and add others later, each with its own minimum.

Can I test several flavours in my first order?

Yes. PharmaEurope counts each flavour as a separate product with its own minimum, so three flavours are three products.

Can I change the label for the next batch?

Yes. PharmaEurope designs the new label or prints your updated artwork, checks it against EU labelling rules and prints it only after you sign it off.

What is the minimum for a protein powder or another sports blend?

PharmaEurope sets a standard minimum of 300 kg of finished blend for powders, sachets and sports nutrition. For a smaller first run, ask with your quantity.

What is the smallest order for effervescent tablets?

PharmaEurope sets a low minimum order for effervescent tablets, quoted per tube count; each tube holds 20 tablets.

Can PharmaEurope make softgels in my own shape?

PharmaEurope makes them with tooling for the shape, quoted per project. Ready-made softgels run from 500 pcs as standard, and a ready-made softgel under your label starts from 100 units.

What is the minimum for drink cubes?

PharmaEurope sets the drink cube minimum per product; production time and shelf life are agreed in your quote.

Can the product be halal?

PharmaEurope treats halal as a per-product certification: each product is certified separately, so name it in your brief for every product that needs it.

Is PharmaEurope a manufacturer or a trading company?

A contract manufacturer. PharmaEurope makes white and private label food supplements at its certified plant in the European Union; contracts are issued by PHARMA EUROPE SOLUTIONS 2023 SL, registered in Spain, CIF B56533847.

What should my first message include?

The format, the product (a ready-made formula or your own idea), the number of products and the quantity of each. Send it to sales@pharmaeurope.eu or on WhatsApp.

How fast does PharmaEurope reply to an enquiry?

PharmaEurope replies within 24 hours, Monday to Friday.
